Street Cut Moratorium

Updated May 3, 2019

The Street Cut Moratorium on newly paved streets was adopted by the City Council on July 14, 2016. The moratorium was established to minimize pavement degradation, maintain structural integrity and limit negative visual impacts.

On a paved, constructed, reconstructed or resurfaced street, the pavement surface shall not be cut or opened for a period of five (5) years after completion or from the recordation of a notice of completion. On a slurry sealed street, the pavement surface shall not be cut or opened for a period of two (2) years.
