Mayor Pro Tem Chuong Vo was elected to the Cerritos City Council in 2020. He was named Mayor Pro Tem in 2020, 2021 and 2024 and Mayor in 2022. A Cerritos resident since 2000, Mayor Pro Tem Vo served on the Cerritos Community Safety Committee from 2009 to 2011 and as a Cerritos Planning Commissioner from 2011 to 2017.

Mayor Pro Tem Vo is a City liaison to the ABC Unified School District, Cerritos Community College and the Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the City's Community Garden, Disaster Preparedness/Emergency Management, MIS/Technology, Parks and Recreation, Personnel, Policies and Procedures, Protocol Manual and Public Safety committees. He is the City's delegate to the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority, for which he serves on the Executive Committee, League of California Cities and Cal Cities Los Angeles Regional Division, League of California Cities 2023 Annual General Assembly and Southeast Water Coalition Joint Powers Authority Board of Directors. He is the City's alternate delegate to the California Contract Cities Association Board of Directors and Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts Board of Directors (Districts 2, 3, 18 & 19). In 2023, Mayor Pro Tem Vo was appointed to the National League of Cities 2023 Public Safety and Crime Prevention (PSCP) federal advocacy committee.

Mayor Pro Tem Vo has more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement and is a member of the Cerritos Optimist Club and a former member of the Kiwanis Club. He attended UCLA majoring in anthropology with an emphasis in biology. He is a recipient of an American Red Cross Hometown Hero Award and a South Bay Medal of Valor Lifesaving Award.

Mayor Pro Tem Vo and his wife, Traci, are parents to sons Ethan and Brandon and family dog Moko.
