Lynda P. Johnson

Councilmember Lynda P. Johnson was elected to the City Council in April of 2022. She has been a resident of Cerritos since 1971.

Councilmember Johnson is a City liaison to the ABC Unified School District. She serves on the City’s Library, Los Angeles County Public Health Department, Public Safety and Senior Services/Senior Center Committees. She is the Council’s delegate to the California Contract Cities Association Board of Directors. She is the City’s alternate delegate to the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority Board of Directors, Gateway Cities Council of Governments 91/605/405 Corridor Cities Committee, Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts Board of Directors (Districts 2, 3, 18 & 19), Southeast Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board Policy Board and Southern California Association of Governments General Assembly.

Councilmember Johnson served as a member of the ABC Unified School District Board from 2011 through 2017. She is a member of the Cerritos Optimist Club and served on the organization’s board in 2022. She is also a member of the Woman’s Club of Artesia-Cerritos.

A 35-year employee of the County of Los Angeles, Councilmember Johnson was a Paralegal with the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office for 20 years and the Field Deputy to L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn for five years. Councilmember Johnson is currently the Field Deputy to Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva.

Councilmember Johnson attended ABC Unified School District schools, including Patricia Nixon Elementary School, Haskell Junior High School and Artesia High School.
