Metro's Weeknight Lane and Ramp Closures on Southbound I-605 South Street Off-Ramp to Begin on July 23

July 22, 2024

Starting on July 23, 2024, and lasting for approximately one week, Metro will install signage, remove landscaping and trees (which will be replaced upon completion of the project), temporarily restripe freeway lines, and place concrete protective barriers as part of the Southbound I-605 South Street Off-Ramp Improvements Project. This nighttime work will require the following closures on SB I-605:

  • From 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., the Southbound I-605 South Street off-ramp will be closed.
  • From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., both State Route (SR) 91 connector ramps to the SB I-605 will be closed.
  • From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., SB I-605 lanes near the South Street off-ramp will be closed, with at least two lanes remaining open.

The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is an annual quality report that the Safe Drinking Water Act requires community water systems to provide to their consumers. The purpose of the CCR is to educate consumers about the quality of their drinking water, where it comes from, and the right to know about the water they are consuming.

Cerritos Iron-Wood Nine Golf Course reopens on May 24

The City of Cerritos is excited to announce the reopening of the Cerritos Iron-Wood Nine Golf Course on Friday, May 24. Beginning on Friday, May 17, golfers may make reservations through a new online tee time reservation system. Updated improvements at Cerritos Iron-Wood Nine Golf Course include course-wide landscape enhancements, interior and exterior clubhouse improvements, turf repairs, tee box renovations and so much more. County of Los Angeles Enhanced Homeowner Notification Program

In an effort to ensure accuracy and protect property owners from real estate fraud, the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs offers an Enhanced Homeowner Notification Program, which notifies residential property owners throughout Los Angeles County when documents are recorded against their property. Under the program, owners are alerted within five to 30 business days after certain documents are recorded on their property, including those that pertain to an ownership change, show loans taken against on the home, or a Notice of Default or Notice of Sale. Carmenita Road and Artesia Boulevard Rehabilitation Project

January 23, 2024

Beginning January 29, the City will begin to grind and repave the streets along Carmenita Road from Alondra Boulevard to Artesia Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard from Carmenita Road to Marquardt Avenue. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of May. The paving portion of the project will be fully funded by Caltrans. Carmenita Road and South Street Intersection Improvements

August 18, 2023

Beginning August 22, the City will begin a traffic signal replacement project at the intersection of Carmenita Road (Moody Street) and South Street (Orangethorpe Avenue). This project will provide additional left turn lanes going north and south along Carmenita Road, replace the existing traffic signal and build a new raised median to the south of the intersection. This project is funded in part by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and is expected to be complete by the summer of 2024. Residential organic waste recycling program in effect

The City's new residential organic waste recycling program expands the list of items to be placed in your green trash cart to include both green waste and food waste. Examples of targeted organic waste now include green waste (previously accepted); coffee grounds; fruits and vegetables; bread, rice and pasta; cheese; meats and bones; food-soiled pizza boxes, paper plates, napkins and paper towels; and paper egg cartons.

  • The L.A. County Assessor Homeowners' Exemption program reduces the assessed value of a home or condo by $7,000 for tax purposes, which translates to a reduction of $70 annually to a homeowner's property tax bill. For more information visit assessor.lacounty.gov/homeowners-exemption/.
