The 5,000-square-foot Cerritos Senior Center Fitness Center at Pat Nixon Park opened in March 2006 and was a gift to the community in celebration of Cerritos' 50th anniversary. The Fitness Center amenities include: cardiovascular equipment, weight training equipment, locker rooms, restrooms, and a conference room for health and wellness meetings.

Membership is limited to Cerritos residents, age 50 or older. The fee is $50 per year. This will be waived for those seniors proving a need or hardship based on federal income guidelines. All seniors must submit a completed waiver to qualify for membership. You must bring proper proof of Cerritos residency.

Hours

Drop-in hours for members are as follows:*

Monday–Friday:
7:30 a.m.–5 p.m.

*Patrons wishing to exercise outside of these times may use their membership to also access the fitness centers at the Cerritos Swim and Fitness Center and Liberty Park.

Cardiovascular Equipment Rules

During peak hours, usage of the cardiovascular equipment is limited to 20 minutes per person. Fitness Center members are expected to manage the waitlist. The following steps need to be taken to manage the waiting list if cardiovascular (treadmill, bike, elliptical) equipment is in use:

  1. Write your name and time of check-in clearly on the appropriate waiting list.
  2. As you see equipment become available, please check if your name is next on the list.
  3. If there is a name above yours on the waiting list, please call out the name to ensure the person is still interested in the equipment.
  4. When it is your turn, please cross off your name before getting on the equipment.

If your name is called and you decline the open exercise time, you forfeit your spot. We appreciate your help and consideration for others while in the Fitness Center.
