Traffic and Street Improvements

Updated October 4, 2022

The City of Cerritos maintains an innovative computer program called the Pavement Management System to help keep Cerritos streets in top shape. City staff conducts periodic evaluations of the condition of residential and major streets. The City's Pavement Management System identifies the streets for rehabilitation in a cost effective and timely manner. Work may range from a minor repair to a complete reconstruction. In each year's budget, the City Council regularly sets aside funds for citywide street repair.

While City inspectors regularly check road conditions, the City appreciates the help of residents and business owners in reporting problems they notice. To report a pothole, or any damaged street, curb, sidewalk, street median or gutter in public right-of-way areas, please visit GoRequest or call the City’s Public Works Department at (562) 916-1220.

Please give your name, address, telephone number, the location where you noticed the problem and any other details you feel are important. In most cases, a maintenance worker or inspector will visit the site and arrange for the appropriate repairs to be made as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or would like more information about street projects in Cerritos, please call the City's Public Works Department at (562) 916-1220.
