Following is a listing of certain upcoming Recreation Services Division programs and activities. Many of the activities require advance registration and participation numbers are limited. Cerritos residents receive priority in registration. Kings and Princesses Royal Evening | Easter Egg Hunts | Family Kite Derby
Kings and Princesses Royal Evening
Kings (fathers, grandfathers, uncles) are invited to treat their princesses (daughters, granddaughters, nieces) to an evening filled with fun and excitement on Friday, March 19. Cerritos Park East will host this special event beginning at 6 PM. The evening is $9 per person and will include dinner, dancing, crafts and games that are designed to give both participants the opportunity to bond and create lasting memories. Pre-registration is required for this event and semi-formal attire or costumes are optional.
Easter Egg Hunts
Come to the Easter Egg Hunts on Saturday, April 3 and search for colorful, surprise-filled eggs (limit two per person) and a variety of spring candy at Cerritos Regional Park, 19700 Bloomfield Avenue. Be sure to bring a holiday basket to carry goodies. The hunts are open to children 18 months to 11 years and kids will be divided by age group for the hunts by ages. Adult supervision is encouraged for children five years of age and under in the hunt areas during designated hunt times. The day will begin at 10 AM and will include jumpers, family games and a craft area.
Family Kite Derby
On Saturday, April 10, spend an afternoon flying kites at the Family Kite Derby. The derby will begin at 3 PM and if a large number of participants are present, kite times will be divided into 30-minute blocks. Sign up for a special one-day, kite-making workshop on Wednesday, April 7 or Thursday, April 8 and make your own kite before the derby. Handmade or store-bought kites are welcome.
