Following is a listing of certain upcoming Recreation Services Division programs and activities. Many of the activities require advance registration and participation numbers are limited. Start the music! Light the lights! The stage awaits prospective Cerritos resident performers to participate in the annual citywide Talent Show on Saturday, April 11. Performers, ages 4 to adult, who can sing, dance or play a musical instrument, are invited to audition. Group performances are allowed and may have a maximum of six members; 50 percent or more of each group must be Cerritos residents. Acts are limited to four minutes maximum. All recorded accompaniment music must be in CD format. The number of entries in each performance category in each age division is limited. Categories may be combined for judging if an inadequate number of participants exist. Auditions must be comprised of material to be used in the actual show (if performer is chosen). A limited number of acts will be selected through the audition process to perform in the show. Awards will be given.
Calls for audition appointments are now being taken at Cerritos Park East. Qualifying acts will be notified by Monday, March 16 and must be present for the full dress rehearsal on Friday, April 10. Seating for the show will be on a first-come, first-served basis and doors open at 5:30 p.m. For more information or to make an audition appointment, please call Cerritos Park East at (562) 407-2611.
Kings (fathers, grandfathers, uncles) are invited to treat their princesses (daughters, granddaughters, nieces) to an evening filled with fun and excitement on Saturday, March 21. Cerritos Park East will host this special event beginning at 5 p.m. The evening is $20 for Cerritos residents and $30 for non-residents. The event will include dinner, dancing, crafts and games that are designed to give participants the opportunity to bond and create a memorable evening. Pre-registration is required for both adult and child participant. Semi-formal attire or costumes are optional.

Be sure to bring an Easter basket to carry goodies. The hunts are open to children 18 months to 10 years and kids will be divided by age group for the hunts. Adult supervision is encouraged for children 2 years of age and under in the hunt areas during designated hunt times. The day will begin at 10 a.m. and will include jumpers, games and a craft area.
