Maintain your property's drainage system

Property drainage systems must be constantly maintained.
Residents should clear their roof drains, gutters and down spouts of blockage from leaves and plant material. They should also check the drains around their landscaping and patio areas.
Lot drainage should be directed away from the house and to the street, and should never be directed on to an adjoining property.
Homeowners who have swimming pools should consult with their pool service company to learn how to lower their pool water level. When a pool overflows, the chemically treated water can damage landscaping.
