Fremont University was recently selected for the City’s Business Spotlight Program, which showcases companies that foster pride in the community, provide jobs and contribute to the local economy.
With roots tracing back to Platt College’s 1879 founding in St. Joseph, Missouri, Fremont University established its Southern California campus in 1986.
Fremont University’s mission is to close the gap between the traditional classroom and the 21st-century workplace by providing an effective educational experience based on innovative instructional methods. The university offers diploma, certificate, associate, bachelor and master’s degree programs in various fields, including healthcare, business and paralegal studies.
The college is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and was recognized as a 2008-2009 and 2011-2012 School of Distinction and a 2013-2014 School of Excellence. Fremont University is also approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. Its Paralegal Studies Program is one of only 33 in the State of California that is approved by the American Bar Association. Fremont University’s Sports & Rehabilitation Therapy and Massage Therapy programs are approved by the California Massage Therapy Council.
Fremont University participates in federal financial aid programs, which provide grants and loans to eligible students, and is approved for the training of veterans. The university was named a 2020-2021 Military Friendly School, which is awarded to the top colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace military students and to dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.
