State Farm Insurance opened in Cerritos in 2007, when an opportunity to have a local office was presented to Jim Barr, a local State Farm Insurance agent. Barr owns and operates the State Farm office located at South Street and Bloomfield Avenue. He is originally from Michigan and comes from a long line of State Farm Insurance agents, including his grandfather, Samuel Barr, who was one of the first part-time agents in the 1930s.
State Farm Insurance in Cerritos offers a wide variety of services for its clients, which include auto insurance, home insurance, property insurance, business insurance, life insurance, health insurance, banking products, annuities and mutual funds.
There is an ongoing trend in the insurance industry, in which companies and agencies have commoditized their products during recent years. For example, most insurance representatives will prescribe solutions without ever diagnosing the problem. State Farm Insurance in Cerritos uses a different approach.
