Cerritos Florist

Updated November 19, 2020

Proclamation presented September 25, 2014 to Cerritos Florist.

Anyone who has grown up in Cerritos knows Cerritos Florist. Its original location on South Street and Bloomfield Avenue has remained for nearly 40 years now, and the level of quality and customer service has never faltered throughout the years or changes in ownership.

Cerritos Florist offers beautiful flower delivery in Cerritos, designed and arranged specifically for the client. The shop is located in the heart of Cerritos and offers the freshest of flower delivery. It has a wide range of plants and gift baskets for all occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, funerals and more. The flower arrangements are hand designed by an expert florist.

Although Vivian Delpilar and Pamela Augustus just recently have become owners of Cerritos Florist, the shop itself has a long standing history in the community. Many of the customers made their first floral purchases as adolescents, buying flowers for a school dance or their first girlfriend. Now Cerritos Florist services them with arrangements for their weddings, anniversaries and other special events. "To grow with our customers and experience these milestones with them is invaluable," stated Delpilar and Augustus.

"With a commitment to service, it has always been important for the shop to give back to the community by making donations to schools or corporate events," continued the owners. For example, one of the most memorable events that Cerritos Florist hosted was in the 1990s, when Lourie Lundquist, the previous owner of 16 years, gave away a dozen roses to 100 customers to encourage them to perform random acts of kindness. According to Delpilar and Augustus, this level of service and sense of community is something that means a great deal to the shop and will always be upheld.

The new owners are no strangers to the City or to the shop. Both have ties to the City, with Augustus growing up attending local schools like Pat Nixon and Haskell Middle School. "Cerritos has always been my home," said Augustus. Delpilar received her first bouquet of flowers from Cerritos Florist and her husband is a proud alumnus of Cerritos High School. Both Augustus and Delpilar are excited to continue the legacy that Cerritos Florist has left in the community and are eager about its opportunity for growth. "With high standards for quality and service, Cerritos Florist is always the first choice for flowers, bringing a little more cheer and sunshine, one arrangement at a time," said Delpilar and Augustus.

Cerritos Florist is located at 12618 South Street in Cerritos. The phone number is (562) 860-4467 and the hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The website is cerritosflorist.net.
