On January 24, 2014, an expected long line of patrons eagerly waited for the doors to open for 85°C Bakery Cafe's (85°C) expansion into Cerritos. 85°C is a cafe and bakery specializing in espresso coffee, flavored beverages, decorative cakes and freshly baked breads. The cafe uses premium Guatemalan coffee beans and serves the freshest gourmet baked goods.
85°C started with one visionary, Wu Cheng Hsueh, who believed in offering high-quality products at affordable prices. He hired four five-star chefs and they created each cake and bread with the highest culinary standards. With more than 60 varieties of breads, 40 varieties of cakes and a unique line of coffee and tea drinks, 85°C opened its first store in Taipei, Taiwan in 2004. Over the past few years, 85°C expanded throughout Taiwan, China, Australia and in the United States. Additionally, in 2008, the first 85°C U.S. location was established in Irvine. Currently, there are more than 745 locations globally.
The name 85°C came from the ideal temperature to serve coffee. It is believed that coffee holds its flavor best at a steady temperature of 85 degrees Celsius. The name 85°C symbolizes the company's devotion to providing coffee of the highest quality and a desire to give customers the best drink possible by paying careful attention to every detail. 85°C goal of perfection extends to all of its products, not just coffee.
As customers enter every 85°C Bakery Cafe, "fresh bread" is shouted every time a team member brings out a tray of freshly baked pastries. Marble Taro, Brioche, Berrytale, Milk Pudding, Mango Crème Brulee and 85°C Egg Tarts, are just a few of the popular 85°C selections.
85°C is thrilled to have opened its first Cerritos location. "Our Cerritos location is a brand new building with a great atmosphere. We are eager to provide quality products and provide one of the best bakery cafe experiences to this community," said Michael Lee, Store Manager. 85°C Bakery Cafe plans to open at least five more locations this year and is poised to become a leading company in the bakery cafe market segment.
