Richard Browning, founder of the Browning Automotive Group, began his career in 1934 in Long Beach. He purchased an existing Oldsmobile dealership in 1960 and re-named it Dick Browning Oldsmobile. The business operated successfully as an exclusive Oldsmobile dealership until the late 1980s. With space limitations resulting from the growth of the business, the decision was made to relocate to an entirely new facility in the then-new Cerritos Auto Square. Upon relocation to Cerritos, the business name became Browning Oldsmobile-Isuzu.
The Cerritos Auto Square quickly became one of the premier auto sales locations in the United States after opening in 1980, providing the Browning Automotive Group with a venue for a successful business. In addition, the City provided an outstanding array of services and infrastructure that further helped Browning Automotive Group provide its clients with a world-class experience.
The Browning Automotive Group was privileged to be one of the first Acura dealers in the United States with the opening of Cerritos Acura in 1986. The dealership combines a state-of-the-art facility with a dedicated staff to provide quality products and services to its customers.
The Browning Automotive Group is currently run by Kent Browning and today consists of eight dealerships employing over 650 professionals. Their goal as a family business is to represent quality products while treating all customers and employees with courtesy, honesty and respect. In addition, Browning Automotive Group is committed to partnering with local schools and businesses to promote education and business growth.
