The Sign Factory

Updated November 19, 2020

Proclamation presented November 25, 2013 to The Sign Factory at Cerritos City Council Chambers.

The Sign Factory of Cerritos was founded by Ernie Dinkel in 1986 with a 16-inch wide dot matrix paper printer with interchangeable color ribbons…a far cry from today’s wide-format, high-resolution printers capable of printing on various substrates. The Sign Factory quickly evolved with technology and made the leap to digitally controlled vinyl cutters using materials that can last for up to three to four years outdoors. Today, The Sign Factory still manufactures signs using high-performance vinyl with an 8- to 10-year outdoor life, depending on climate and sun exposure. Eventually, the company added the ability to include three dimensional letters and graphics produced from various materials, such as foam, acrylic, PVC and metal on the signs. The Sign Factory staff always hears positive comments from their customers, such as “I didn’t know you do that,” which is a testament to their creativity and experience. If it is any kind of sign — a nameplate, plaque, banner, tee shirt, vehicle graphic, display, building or monument sign — they can help the client achieve their vision for their business.

Customer service has always been The Sign Factory's top priority. In addition, The Sign Factory prides itself on consistently delivering products ahead of schedule and on having some of the most competitive prices around. Over the years, the company has partnered with other companies to manufacture and install signs to keep equipment and overhead costs down. It is no accident that The Sign Factory has been able to retain several major customers with multiple locations for more than 20 years. Some of its longtime customers include ABC Unified School District, The Car Group, KIA of Cerritos and Habitat for Humanity.

“We are proud to be located within the City of Cerritos. With its business friendly and safe environment, Cerritos has been the ideal base from which to grow and expand our business throughout the Southern California area,” said Dinkel.

The Sign Factory is located at 13905 Artesia Blvd, Cerritos, CA 90703 and can be reached at (562) 809-1443. The company is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Sign Factory’s website is located at signfactory2.com.
