Omni-Lite Industries is a high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that was incorporated in Calgary, Canada in 1992. The company commercializes advanced metal composites for a variety of industries. Omni-Lite’s products are utilized by companies such as Boeing, Airbus, Ford, Caterpillar, John Deere, Nike, adidas, Chrysler, Alcoa, Borg Warner and the United States Military. Omni-Lite went public in 1997 and trades on the TSX-Venture Exchange in Canada.
Omni-Lite made its home in Cerritos in 1994 at the suggestion of one of its early shareholders. At the time, Omni-Lite had three employees located in the back of a building on Bettencourt Street. Over the next couple years, the company focused on the development of several products for Nike to be used in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. From there, Omni-Lite expanded into the automotive and aerospace industries. To meet rising demand, Omni-Lite expanded its base into portions of three buildings located near Marquardt Avenue and Struikman Road. In 2000, fueled by increases in all business activities, Omni-Lite purchased a 31,000-square-foot building on Edwards Road, across the street from its first location. The Company is now hoping to expand to around 80,000 square feet within the Cerritos area.
