CDBG funds will be used to improve accessibility at parks

January 2, 2018

The Cerritos City Council has approved the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to improve accessibility at Reservoir Hill Park and Gridley Park East.

Approximately $148,203 will be allocated toward removing physical barriers at the properties to make them more compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act. About 9,539 square feet of new rubberized material is expected to be installed at the playground areas of both parks, making them more accessible for people with disabilities.

Funds are expected to be disbursed to the City in July 2018 and construction is anticipated to be completed by June 2019.
