Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts kicks off 2017-2018 season

The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) opens the 2017-2018 Season with Grammy-winning Motown powerhouse Gladys Knight. The "Empress of Soul" – who shattered music charts with "Love Overboard," "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)" and "Midnight Train to Georgia" – performs on Saturday, September 9 at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $80 to $135.

One of the funniest and busiest actresses in Hollywood, Betty White shares stories about her life and award-winning career, which includes award-winning stints on "Golden Girls" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." The legendary comedienne's talk, followed by an audience Q&A, is scheduled for Sunday, September 10 at 3 p.m. Television star Valerie Bertinelli moderates the show. Tickets cost $75 to $200.

"We've Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered" celebrates the Pop duo's legacy in words and music. Accompanied by a live seven-piece band, the show pays tribute to the Carpenters' music phenomenon and hits, such as "(They Long to Be) Close to You," "Yesterday Once More" and "There's a Kind of Hush." Tickets are $45 to $65 for this 8 p.m. concert on Saturday, September 16.

Creedence Clearwater Revisited returns to the CCPA Sunday, September 17 at 7 p.m. The dynamic Rock group delivers its timeless songs, such as "Proud Mary," "Down on the Corner" and "Who'll Stop the Rain." The group is the creation of original band members and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Stu Cook and Doug "Cosmo" Clifford. Ticket prices range from $80 to $100.

A performance by Johnny Mathis on Friday, September 22 is sold out.

"Live and Let Die" features a four-piece band headed by bassist-guitarist-pianist-singer Tony Kishman and a full symphony orchestra led by conductor Martin Herman. Enjoy hit songs from the Beatles' catalog and Paul McCartney's solo works, including "Let It Be," "Live and Let Die" and "Yesterday." Tickets range from $45 to $65 for the 8 p.m. performance on Saturday, September 23.

Are you ready for some "Fun, Fun, Fun" with The Beach Boys? The legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Grammy-winning band brings "Good Vibrations" to the shores of Cerritos on Sunday, September 24 at 7 p.m. The night features a treasure trove of all-time surf hits, including "California Girls," "I Get Around" and "Barbara Ann." Tickets are $100 to $120.

Eddie Money and Starship Featuring Mickey Thomas play at the CCPA on Friday, September 29 at 8 p.m. Money's blue-collar brand of Rock 'n' Roll transcends generations with the hits "Two Tickets to Paradise" and the Grammy-nominated "Take Me Home Tonight." With Thomas at its helm, Starship ruled the charts with "We Built This City" and the Oscar-nominated "Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now." Starship performs first and Money closes the show. Ticket prices range from $50 to $95.

Celebrated for the hit "The Way You Look Tonight," Emmy and Grammy winner Steve Tyrell will perform music from the Great American Songbook and songs by Ray Charles at the CCPA on Saturday, September 30 at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $30 to $70.
