April showers CCPA with music, dance

March 24, 2017

Spring is in the air as the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) welcomes April.

The theater presents "Art Garfunkel: In Close Up" on Saturday, April 1 at 8 p.m. The Grammy winner has made an indelible mark on the music world, starting as half of the Simon & Garfunkel duo, which dominated the music charts with the hits "Mrs. Robinson," "Scarborough Fair," "The Sound of Silence" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water." The Hall of Famer is also celebrated for his timelessness with the solo hits "All I Know" and "I Only Have Eyes for You." Ticket prices start at $55.

The high-octane production "Dance to the Movies" features celebrity pros, including "Dancing With the Stars'" Anna Trebunskaya and Emmy-nominated choreographer Dmitry Chaplin; "So You think You Can Dance" veterans Jonathan Platero and Legacy; "American Idol's" Vonzell Solomon; and special guest star and Academy Award nominee Lesley Ann Warren. On Sunday, April 2 at 3 p.m., the production re-creates memorable moments from the films "West Side Story," "Grease," "Chicago," "Singin' in the Rain" and "Moulin Rouge." Choreography to scores from "Titanic," "The Matrix" and "Harry Potter" will also be performed. Tickets are available starting at $65.

Due to scheduling conflicts, "An Intimate Evening With Kristin Chenoweth," which was originally scheduled for Thursday, March 23 at 8 p.m., has been rescheduled to Saturday, April 15 at 8 p.m. A limited number of tickets is available starting at $75.

Tickets are available at or by calling (562) 916-8500.
