Street improvements under way

Sequel Contractors of Santa Fe Springs was recently awarded a $546,563 contract by the City Council to upgrade and rehabilitate City residential streets.

Residential slurry sealing is being completed in the area bordered by Carmenita Road to the west, 166th Street to the north, Marquardt Avenue to the east and Beach Street to the south. Alley repaving is being done in the condominium and apartment complex east of Palo Verde Avenue and north and south of Droxford Avenue.

The work also includes removal and replacement of 42 handicap-accessible ramps and re-striping school crosswalks citywide.

The slurry sealing will be completed by the end of August and the alley repaving will be done by the end of September.
