Entertainment icon Sophia Loren kicks off CCPA's new season

The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) opens the 2016-2017 Season with "An Evening With Sophia Loren." The icon shares intimate tales about her life and career, which includes an Oscar for the foreign movie "Two Women," on Friday, September 16 at 8 p.m. A Q&A follows. This is Loren's only Los Angeles-area appearance during the national tour. Ticket prices range from $90 to $150.

Paul Anka performs his legendary hits on Saturday, September 17 at 8 p.m. The singer's popular songs include "Diana," "Crazy Love," "(You're) Having My Baby," "You Are My Destiny" and "Put Your Head on My Shoulder." He has earned an induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame for the songs he wrote for others: "Puppy Love" for Donny Osmond; "She's a Lady" for Tom Jones; and "My Way" for Frank Sinatra. Tickets cost $75 to $110.

Saddle up for a high-spirited, action-packed Western show with the Grammy-winning group Riders in the Sky. The ensemble pays tribute to the movies, music and memory of "King of the Cowboys" Roy Rogers on Sunday, September 18 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 to $55.

"The King of Romance" Engelbert Humperdinck has wooed generations of fans with the tunes "Release Me (And Let Me Love Again)," "I'll Walk Alone" and "There Goes My Everything." The legendary balladeer, who has earned four Grammy nominations and a Golden Globe for "Entertainer of the Year," performs his hits on Saturday, September 24 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, September 25 at 3 p.m. Ticket prices range from $40 to $90.

The tribute show "MJ LIVE" brings Michael Jackson's biggest hits – "Bad," "Billie Jean," "Beat It," "Thriller," "Black & White" and more – to Cerritos! With dancers and a live band, a talented "King of Pop" impersonator electrifies audiences with the one-of-a-kind voice and amazing dance moves that are uniquely Jackson's. Don't miss the extravaganza on Friday, September 30 at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $40 to $60.
