April 22, 2016

The American Cancer Society will hold its annual Relay for Life of Cerritos/Artesia event on Saturday, June 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Liberty Park. The event honors cancer survivors, raises money to help end cancer and promotes how individuals can reduce their cancer risk.

The Relay for Life of Cerritos/Artesia will include an Opening Ceremony at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Survivors Lap at 10 a.m., a Caregivers Lap at 10:15 a.m. and a Luminaria Ceremony at 9 p.m. The event will conclude with a Closing Ceremony at 9:30 p.m.

One of the missions of this year's event is to support the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program. There are 31 Hope Lodge communities across the country, which serve as places of comfort and provide lodging and support services for cancer patients and their caregivers.
