Chick-fil-A has steadily grown to become the second largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the United States, with over 1,500 locations in 39 states and Washington, D.C. In 2010, annual sales were over $3.5 billion. Chick-fil-A is still privately held and family owned. With 43 consecutive years of positive sales growth, Chick-fil-A has set itself apart by pioneering innovations and delicious products—including the ever-popular Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich.
In 1981 Chick-fil-A opened in the Los Cerritos Center Mall in the location now occupied by the Zales jewelry store. As the Los Cerritos Center flourished and the food court was built in the 1990’s the Chick-fil-A moved there with the majority of other food tenants. Fast forward to March 2007 and Chick-fil-A Cerritos had an opportunity to go full size with the conversion of the old Krispy Kreme next to Bank of America in the parking lot of the Los Cerritos Center. This set in motion a transition from the anchor location inside the mall (closed in April 2009) to the current location with expanded hours and a drive-thru. The Cerritos Chick-fil-A restaurant is owned and operated by Robert Hensen. Robert's wife Brenda is the local marketing director, assisted by her twin sister Lind. The Hensens have two teenage daughters, Mikaela and Kiana, and the whole family is active everyday in Cerritos making sure this Chick-fil-A is the best!

As a testament to the Hensen's hard work and dedication, the Cerritos Chick-fil-A finished in the top ten in sales growth for all Chick-fil-A locations nationwide and was awarded the prestigious "Symbol of Success" award. The Hensens are proud members of the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce and continue to work diligently to support local schools and community organizations through their spirit nights and other fund raisers.
